Fruit Platters That Speaks For Itself
Artistic, custom-engraved fruit platters — ideal for gifts, events & special occasions.

Where it started.
This is a studio that builds elaborate, custom-engraved fruit platters — the kind of work that has to be seen to be sold. A plain page of text couldn't carry it; they needed a visual catalog where every category showed its best, with prices and an obvious way to get in touch.
The hidden chore was the photography. Every platter photo had to be cut out from its background to look clean on the site — work that normally happens in a separate image editor, one file at a time, before anything ever reaches WordPress. For a small studio, that's a tax on every new picture.
They didn't want a heavy e-commerce platform to babysit. They wanted a fast, branded site they could update themselves — and to take the photo-cleanup step out of the workflow entirely.
How I thought about it.
I built a custom WordPress theme so the whole front end — gallery sections, titles, prices, layouts — renders from CMS fields the owner edits, not hardcoded markup. The design leans into the brand: warm, dark, fruit-forward, with a Fancybox lightbox so each piece can be viewed up close.
Then I pushed the photo-cleanup step into WordPress itself. I extended the Media Library so any image gets a “Remove Background” button that calls Remove.bg server-side, swaps the cleaned PNG into the existing attachment, regenerates WordPress's image sizes, and keeps the original safe for a one-click restore — so the annoying out-of-CMS detour just disappeared.
The thing itself.

- CMS-driven galleryGallery sections, titles, prices, grid sizes, and feature layouts all render from WordPress fields — adding or re-pricing a platter is a field edit, not a code change.
- One-click background removalA “Remove Background” button on any Media Library image calls Remove.bg server-side and swaps the cleaned PNG straight into the attachment.
- Original-safe + restoreThe original is preserved in attachment meta and the image sizes are regenerated, with a one-click restore — nothing downstream breaks.
- Branded responsive themeCustom header, mobile menu, SVG card frames, decorative fruit assets, and a fruit-themed 404 page.
- Lightbox viewingFancybox popups let visitors view each platter up close, with thumbnails and toolbar controls.
- Lead paths everywhereContact Form 7 plus direct email, phone, and map links — and a footer that auto-builds quick links from the gallery sections.
- Secured admin AJAXA settings page holds the Remove.bg API key; the AJAX handlers are nonce-protected and permission-gated.
What changed.
Visitors browse the platters visually — by category, with prices — instead of reading a list, which is how this product actually sells.
The owner runs the catalog from WordPress: adding or re-pricing a section is a field edit, not a developer ticket.
Product-photo cleanup moved into the Media Library — one click to remove a background, one to restore — instead of editing every image in a separate tool first.
It stays lightweight: a custom theme plus a focused plugin, with no heavy e-commerce stack to maintain.
Outcomes are qualitative — no client metrics shown.
Under the hood.
